We are very exited to announce that Stafford’s first Literary Festival will take place on Saturday 18th April 2020, 10am to 4pm at Stafford Gatehouse Theatre. This year’s event is being sponsored by the University of Wolverhampton, in Stafford along with Stafford Borough Council and organised by Stafford Publishers Ltd.

The day will be made up by three ticketed sessions each showcasing a variety of authors and talks. There will also be book sales and an open mic spoken word session throughout the day in the Mountbatten and Church hill suites.

Times and information for each event are as follows:

Writing, Geology and Fiction

10am – 11:30am – Age 12 Plus

Learn about creative writing, hear readings from authors of fiction and learn some fascinating facts about local geology.

Children’s Time:

12:00pm – 1:15pm

Enjoy some time listening to stories, song and music from published children’s authors. Find out where some of their inspiration came from. Followed by an opportunity to ask questions and find out what’s it like to be an author. Prize presentation for the junior winners of the Stafford LitFest writing competition.

Marketing, Poetry, Thrillers and Prizes

1:45p – 4:00pm – Age 16 Plus

Learn how to market your book, enjoy readings and talks from Poet Laureates, rhyming comics, crime fiction and there’s a prize presentation for the winners of the Stafford LitFest writing competition.
